Wine Folly: Page 96 Chardonnay. Chardonnay is one of the worlds most popular grapes. It pairs best with subtle spices and flavors so seafood is a good pairing. It should have notes of yellow apple, starfruit, pineapple, vanilla, and butter. It should be served cold, and should not be decanted
My Review: This wine is not my favorite. I am usually not a fan of white wine and this one especially does not do anything for me. I find it hard to find any of the notes that wine folly said this wine should have. I do get a note of yellow apple and pineapple but that is from the sour acidic flavor I am tasting. Off the nose it really does not do anything as I get notes of bleach. It does not taste very good either as it tastes sort of chemically as well. I paired it with some bellavitano cheese as well and the cheese was good but when I paired it with the wine it overpowered the cheese and it was not complimentary.
Wine review online: This Chardonnay is abundant with aromas of exotic tropical fruit while flavors of tart lemon curd and creamy crème brûlée enlighten your palate. FJ Serra is a wine of fortitude, a perfect complement to any feast, but especially one that includes seafood.
