Wine Folly: Page 96 Chardonnay. Petite Sirah is known for deep colored reds with dark fruit flavors. With those characteristics it should be paired with heavy fatty meals. It should have notes of sugar plum, blueberry, black tea, dark chocolate, and black pepper.


My Review: This wine is very sweet as soon as you taste it which make sense because it should have flavors of sugar plum. I do get notes of vanilla as described on the online review. But I feel like the sweetness overpowers the flavors and it takes away from the wine. It finishes with a very dry flavor which means it has a lot of tannins. After you swallow you are instantly hit with the tannins and then it leaves a sour flavor in my mouth that tastes like plastic. Overall not my favorite and definitely too sweet of a red wine for me.


Wine review online: Ripe black fruit, accented with distinct, smoky, American oak aromas of vanilla and hazelnut.

It should have medium-low sweetness and medium high alcohol along with a medium-low body. My Review: I was a big fan of this sparkling chardonnay it is very good and one of my favorite wines we had. The bubbles add a nice texture and the high tannins and crisp flavors makes me feel like I'm sitting under a tree in the summer eating a tart green apple. I get lime flavors and other citrus notes through this wine. It is smooth and has a slight buttery finish as a swallow it. Wine review online: ight cranberry color, juicy strawberry-watermelon fruit aromas, nice mineral, nice lift of spring flowers and fresh zest from cara-cara oranges, tangy vanilla crème fraîche on strawberry shortcake! Refreshingly crisp and dry, mouth-watering actually. Great with almost any food, from sushi to salmon to BBQ!
